Let \(D\subset\mathbb C^n\) be a bounded convex domain of finite type, \(X\) a complex hypersurface such that \(X \cap D\) is nonempty connected and transversal, and \(\phi\in L^\infty(D\cap X)\cap\mathcal O(X\cap D)\). The author studies the existence of a continuous operator of extension \(T:L^\infty(X\cap D)\cap \mathcal O(X\cap D)\to\mathcal O(D)\cap L^\infty(D)\). A necessary condition to the existence of the extension is given. This condition does not use the notions of `type' but the McNeal pseudodistance associated to a convex domain of finite type. Under a few stronger hypothesis, the author shows that the operator of Berndtsson-Andersson type, defined this time for a variety \(X\), again is a continuous operator of extension.
