The author studies existence and uniqueness of weighted pseudo almost automorphic mild solutions of the following fractional semilinear differential equation in a Banach space \(X\): \[ D^{\alpha}_{t} u(y)=Au(t)+D^{\alpha-1}_{t} f(t,u(t),Bu(t)), \] where the derivative \(D^{\alpha}_{t}\), \(1<\alpha<2\), is understood in the Riemann-Liouville sense, \(A\) is a linear sectorial operator of type \(\omega <0\), \(B\) is a bounded linear operator, \(f\) is (in some sense) a weighted pseudo almost automorphic function. First, a composition theorem for weighted pseudo almost automorphic functions is obtained which then is used in combination with Banach's fixed point principle to achieve the results. An application to a fractional partial differential equation is also given. Note that the concept of weighted pseudo almost automorphic functions was introduced by \textit{J. Blot, G. M. Mophou, the reviewer} and \textit{D. Pennequin} [``Weighted pseudo almost automorphic functions and applications to abstract differential equations'', Nonlinear Anal., Theory Methods Appl. 71, No.~3--4, A, 903--909 (2009; Zbl 1177.34077)] as a generalization of pseudo almost automorphic functions, a concept suggested by the reviewer in his book [Topics in almost automorphy. New York: Springer. (2005; Zbl 1073.43004), page 40] and developed by \textit{J. Liang, J. Zhang} and \textit{T.-J. Xiao} [J. Math. Anal. Appl. 340, No.~2, 1493--1499 (2008; Zbl 1134.43001)]. The paper is well written and easy to read. It generalizes the one by \textit{D. Araya} and \textit{C. Lizama} [``Almost automorphic mild solutions to fractional differential equations'', Nonlinear Anal., Theory Methods Appl. 69, No.~11, A, 3692--3705 (2008; Zbl 1166.34033)].
