Let \(F\) be a canonical product with negative zeros such that its counting function is of the form \(n(t)=[t^\rho l(t)]\), where \(\rho>0\) and \(l(t)\) is a slowly varying function. One-term asymptotics for such functions have been known since \textit{G. Valiron} [Thése, Paris; Toulouse Ann. (3) 5, 117--257 (1913; JFM 46.1462.03)] and \textit{E. C. Titchmarch}, [Proceedings L. M. S. (2) 26, 185--200 (1927; JFM 53.0295.01)]. Further results can be founded in [\textit{B. Ya. Levin}, Lectures on entire functions. In collab. with Yu. Lyubarskii, M. Sodin, V. Tkachenko. Translations of Mathematical Monographs. 150. Providence, RI: American Mathematical Society (AMS) (1996; Zbl 0856.30001)]. Posing additional assumptions on \(l(t)\) the author obtains a multi-term asymptotic for \(\log F(z)\) in terms of \(l\) which becomes sharp up to \(O(1)\) for \(l(t)=\alpha \log ^{N-1} t\), \(\alpha\in \mathbb{R}\), and \(N\in \mathbb{N}\).
