In this paper, the authors establish Orlicz-Pettis theorems for multiplier convergent series of quasi-homogeneous operators. Let \(X,Y\) be vector spaces and \(Z\) be a locally convex space. An operator \(T:X\rightarrow Y\) is quasi-homogeneous if there exists a function \(\phi:\mathbb{C}\rightarrow\mathbb{C}\) satisfying \(\lim_{t\rightarrow0}\phi(t)=\phi(0)=0\) such that \(T(tx)=\phi (t)Tx\) for \(t\in\mathbb{C}\), \(x\in X\). Linear operators obviously satisfy this condition, and Li and his co-workers have given examples of nonlinear operators which are quasi-homogeneous. If \(\phi\) satisfies the condition above, let \(QH_{\phi }(X,Y)=\{T:X\rightarrow Y:T(tx)=\phi(t)Tx\}\). An operator \(b:X\times Y\rightarrow Z\) is bi-quasi-homogeneous if there exist functions \(\phi,\psi\) satisfying the conditions above such that \(b(x,\cdot)\in\) \(QH_{\psi}(X,Y)\) for every \(x\in X\) and \(b(\cdot,y)\in QH_{\phi}(X,Y)\) for every \(y\in Y\). Let \(\lambda\) be a scalar sequence space. A series \(\sum_{k}x_{k}\) in \(X\) is \(\lambda b\)-multiplier convergent if for every \(t=\{t_{k}\}\in\lambda\) there exists \(x_{t}\in X\) such that \(\sum_{k=1}^{\infty}b(t_{k}x_{k},y)=b(x_{t},y)\) for all \(y\in Y\). A set \(K\subset Y\) is \(b\)-pointwise bounded if \(\{b(x,y):y\in K\}\) is bounded for every \(x\in X\). The space \(\lambda\) is \(c_{0}\)-factorable if every \(t=\{t_{k}\}\in\lambda\) can be written as \(t=\{s_{k}u_{k}\}\) with \(\{s_{k}\}\in c_{0,}\{u_{k}\}\in\lambda\) and \(\lambda\) is monotone if \(\chi_{E}t\in\lambda\) for every \(t\in\lambda\) and \(E\subset\mathbb{N}\), where \(\chi_{E}\) is the characteristic function of \(E\) and \(\chi_{E}t\) is the coordinatewise product of \(t\) and \(\chi_{E}\). The authors establish the following version of the Orlicz-Pettis Theorem: If \(\lambda\) is \(c_{0} \)-factorable and monotone and if \(\sum_{k}x_{k}\) is \(\lambda b\)-multiplier convergent, then for every \(t\in\lambda\) and every \(b\)-pointwise bounded \(K\subset Y\), the series \(\sum_{k=1}^{\infty}b(t_{k}x_{k},y)=b(x_{t},y)\) converge uniformly for \(y\in K\). As a corollary, this theorem for linear functions implies that a series in a locally convex space which is \(\lambda\)-multiplier convergent in the weak topology is \(\lambda\)-multiplier convergent in the strong topology and that a series of continuous linear operators which is \(\lambda\)-multiplier convergent in the strong operator topology is \(\lambda\)-multiplier convergent in the uniform operator topology; both are very interesting results. A similar version of the Orlicz-Pettis theorem is established for sequence spaces \(\lambda\) which satisfy the infinite gliding hump property. Examples are given of sequence spaces which show that the properties ``infinite gliding hump property'' and ``\(c_{0}\)-factorable and monotone'' do not imply each other.
