We introduce Generative Neural Inference for Epidemics (GENIE), a spatio-temporal machine learning framework for high-resolution forecasting of the burden of respiratory pathogens that captures shared biological mechanisms and location-specific characteristics affecting transmission dynamics. GENIE demonstrates superior performance against established models in terms of timing and magnitude of peak hospitalizations.
