We derive a coercive space-time variational formulation for fractional diffusion problems with temporal nonlocality acting on the diffusive flux and establish existence, uniqueness, and regularity of solutions in Bochner-valued Sobolev spaces. We develop a conforming tensor-product Galerkin discretization and prove quasi-optimal error estimates in anisotropic energy norms and improved convergence rates in weaker norms using duality arguments.
