We present a root isolation algorithm for an analytic function using interval subdivision combined with a heuristic test based on local cubic Hermite interpolation. This algorithm efficiently isolates roots by assuming critical points of the interpolant provide valid root isolation for the original function, and extensive numerical experiments show it produces correct results.
