The author is concerned with multipoint boundary value problems for systems of linear and nonlinear difference equations. Some methods for solving linear systems are compared together with respect to their computational expense, especially in the case of separated boundary conditions. Nonlinear systems are reduced to linear systems by means of Newton's method. In some numerical examples the methods are applied to difference equations arising from differential equations by discretization. Here, the methods are identical with some well-known variants of shooting methods.
