Fuzzy initial value problems (FIVPs) are studied. Large solutions of FIVPs are defined. It is shown that these solutions contain the set of solutions studied by Hullermeier and P. Diamond (called small solutions). Using Banach's fixed-point theorem, the existence of large solutions, their continuous dependence on initial conditions and their structural stability are established. Two examples are given. First, it is shown that there are large solutions which are not small solutions. Second, it is shown that both sets of solutions are identical.
