A Banach algebra \(A\) is said to be \(n\)-weakly amenable (\(n\in\mathbb{N}\)) if \(H^1(A, A^{(n)})=0\), or equivalently, every bounded derivation from \(A\) into \(A^{(n)}\) is inner; here, \(A^{(n)}\) denotes the \(n\)th dual of \(A\). This notion was initiated and intensively developed by \textit{H. G. Dales, F. Ghahramani} and \textit{N. Grønbæk} [Stud. Math. 128, No.~1, 19--54 (1998; Zbl 0903.46045)], who showed that \(C^*\)-algebras are permanently weakly amenable (i.e., \(n\)-weakly amenable for all \(n\)) and that \(L^1(G)\) is \((2n-1)\)-weakly amenable for all \(n\). In the present paper, the author deals with the \(n\)-weak amenability of the Beurling algebra \(L^1_\omega(G)\) (which has been extensively studied by \textit{H. G. Dales} and \textit{A. T.-M. Lau} [Mem. Am. Math. Soc. 836 (2005; Zbl 1075.43003)]). His substantial approach provides an interesting proof of the fact that, if \(G\) is Abelian and \(\inf_{n\in\mathbb{N}}\frac{\omega(nt)\omega(-nt)}{n}=0\) \((t\in G)\), then \(L^1_\omega(G)\) is weakly amenable, which is an extension of \textit{N. Grønbæk}'s result [Stud. Math. 94, No.~2, 149--162 (1989; Zbl 0704.46030)]. He also imposes some conditions on the involved weight and provides a criterion for 2-weak amenability of \(L^1_\omega(G),\) from which not only he recasts a result of \textit{F. Ghahramani} and \textit{G. Zabandan} [Int. J. Pure Appl. Math. 16, No.~1, 75--86 (2004; Zbl 1063.43003)], but he also presents a wide variety of weights for which \(L^1_\omega(G)\) is not 2-weakly amenable in the case where \(G\) is a non-compact, compactly generated Abelian group.
