Modules induced from a normal subgroup of prime index
From MaRDI portal
Abstract: Let be a finite group and a normal subgroup of prime index . Let be an irreducible -module and a quotient of the induced -module . We describe the structure of , which is semisimple when and uniserial if . Furthermore, we describe the division rings arising as endomorphism algebras of the simple components of . We use techniques from noncommutative ring theory to study and relate the right ideal structure of to the submodule structure of .
