Norm attaining operators and pseudospectrum
From MaRDI portal
Abstract: It is shown that if and is a subspace or a quotient of an -direct sum of finite dimensional Banach spaces, then for any compact operator on such that , the operator attains its norm. A reflexive Banach space and a bounded rank one operator on are constructed such that and does not attain its norm.
