On T-sequences and characterized subgroups

Abstract: Let X be a compact metrizable abelian group and mathbfu=un be a sequence in its dual Xwedge. Set smathbfu(X)=x:(un,x)o1 and mathbbT0H=(zn)inmathbbTinfty:zno1. Let G be a subgroup of X. We prove that G=smathbfu(X) for some mathbfu iff it can be represented as some dually closed subgroup Gmathbfu of mClXGimesmathbbT0H. In particular, smathbfu(X) is polishable. Let mathbfu=un be a T-sequence. Denote by (widehatX,mathbfu) the group Xwedge equipped with the finest group topology in which uno0. It is proved that (widehatX,mathbfu)wedge=Gmathbfu and mathbfn(widehatX,mathbfu)=smathbfu(X)perp. We also prove that the group generated by a Kronecker set can not be characterized.
