Tldr We develop a novel block-regularized splitting (BRS) framework to efficiently solve indefinite least-squares (ILS) problems with improved spectral properties, and propose an effective BRS preconditioner that consistently outperforms existing methods in terms of iteration count and computational time, demonstrated through extensive numerical experiments on both dense and sparse test problems.
