On the behaviour of Stanley depth under variable adjunction

From MaRDI portal

Abstract: Let S=K[x1,...,xn] be a polynomial ring in n variables over the field K. For integers 1leqt<n consider the ideal I=(x1,...,xt)cap(xt+1,...,xn) in S. In this paper we bound from above the Stanley depth of the ideal I′=(I,xn+1,...,xn+p)subsetS′=S[xn+1,...,xn+p]. We give similar upper bounds for the Stanley depth of the ideal (In,2,xn+1,...,xn+p), where In,2 is the square free Veronese ideal of degree 2 in n variables.
