On the integer sets with the same representation functions

Abstract: Let mathbbN be the set of all nonnegative integers. For SsubseteqmathbbN and ninmathbbN, let RS(n) denote the number of solutions of the equation n=s1+s2, s1,s2inS and s1<s2. Let A be the set of all nonnegative integers which contain an even number of digits 1 in their binary representations and B=mathbbNsetminusA. Put Al=Acap[0,2l−1] and Bl=Bcap[0,2l−1]. In 2017, Kiss and S'{a}ndor proved that, if CcupD=[0,m], 0inC and CcapD=r, then RC(n)=RD(n) for every positive integer n if and only if there exists an integer lge1 such that r=22l−1, m=22l+1−2, C=A2lcup(22l−1+B2l) and D=B2lcup(22l−1+A2l). This solved a problem of Chen and Lev. In this paper, we prove that, if CcupD=[0,m]setminusr with 0<r<m, CcapD=emptyset and 0inC, then RC(n)=RD(n) for any nonnegative integer n if and only if there exists an integer lgeq2 such that m=2l, r=2l−1, C=Al−1cupleft(2l−1+1+Bl−1ight) and D=Bl−1cupleft(2l−1+1+Al−1ight).
