On the planar Gaussian-Minkowski problem

From MaRDI portal

Abstract: The current work focuses on the Gaussian-Minkowski problem in dimension 2. In particular, we show that if the Gaussian surface area measure is proportional to the spherical Lebesgue measure, then the corresponding convex body has to be a centered disk. As an application, this ``uniqueness result is used to prove the existence of smooth small solutions to the Gaussian-Minkowski problem via a degree-theoretic approach.

The Minkowski problem in Gaussian probability space was posed by Huang, Xi and Zhao [\textit{Y. Huang} et al., Adv. Math. 385, Article ID 107769, 36 p. (2021; Zbl 1466.52010)]. When Gaussian volume of convex bodies is not less than 1/2, Huang, Xi and Zhao used Erhard inequality to obtain the uniqueness part of the Gaussian-Minkowski problem. The present paper focuses on the Gaussian-Minkowski problem in dimension 2. The authors show that if the Gaussian surface area measure is proportional to the spherical Lebesgue measure, then the corresponding convex body has to be a centered disk. As an application, this ``uniqueness result is used to prove the existence of smooth small solutions to the Gaussian-Minkowski problem via a degree-theoretic approach.
