Order-isomorphic twins in permutations
From MaRDI portal
Abstract: Let be a permutation of . Two disjoint order-isomorphic subsequences are called emph{twins}. We show that every permutation of contains twins of length improving the trivial bound of . We also show that a random permutation contains twins of length , which is sharp.
