OpenML

OpenML is a platform for sharing machine learning datasets and experiments. It is an online platform that enables users to easily share and discover machine learning datasets, and to collaborate on machine learning experiments. OpenML was created in 2014 by a team of researchers led by Joaquin Vanschoren at the Eindhoven University of Technology in the Netherlands. It is an open source project, and is free to use for both individuals and organizations. The goal of OpenML is to provide a centralized repository of machine learning datasets and experiments, and to enable users to easily find, use, and reuse data and experiments for their own research and development. OpenML also provides tools for managing and organizing machine learning experiments, including support for parallel and distributed computing.

Within MaRDI, we are contributing to the OpenML ecosystem, for example by developing the R package mlr3oml, which connects OpenML to mlr3.

Wikidata has a dedicated property for OpenML dataset identifiers: OpenML dataset ID (P11238).
