How to Log In via Institutional Account (NFDI-AAI)
If you are a member of a German university or research institute, you can use your existing local credentials. Follow these steps to complete the login process:
Step 1: Start the Login
On the portal login page, look for the green buttons at the bottom.
- Click on "Anmelden mit DFN-AAI" (or Edu-ID if applicable).
Step 2: Select Your Organization
You will be redirected to the DFN-AAI selection page.
- Search: Type the name of your university or research center (e.g., "ZIB" or "TU Berlin") into the search box.
- Confirm: Click the "Auswählen" (Select) button.
- Tip: Check "Auswahl permanent speichern" if you want the system to remember your choice for next time.
Step 3: Choose the Client (Mandant)
You may be asked which project/area you wish to access.
- Selection: Use the dropdown menu to select the correct client (i.e. MaRDI).
- Confirm: Click the "Wählen" button.
Step 4: Your Institutional Login
You will now see your own institution's login screen.
- Security: This is handled entirely by your local IT department.
- Action: Enter your standard username and password here.
- Note: Our portal never sees or stores these credentials.
Step 5: Data Transfer Consent
Finally, you must agree to share basic profile information (name, email, and affiliation) with the portal.
- Review: Ensure your details are correct.
- Action: Check the boxes to agree to the terms and data release.
- Finish: Click "Ich stimme zu" (I agree) to enter the portal.
What's next?
From now on you should be able to login with your institutional username / password.
Remember: Use the option Login with your NFDI-AAI Account to use the system.
