Maximal solutions for \(-\Delta u+u^q=0\) in open and finely open sets

Abstract: We study the existence and uniqueness of new classes of solutions of the superlinear equation −Deltau+uq=0 (q>1) in a domain of R^N or in a finely open set for the topology associated to the Bessel capacity C_{2,q'}. Condition of existence or uniqueness of solutions with boundary blow-up are obtained generalizing the results of Dhersin-Le Gall and of Labutin.

This paper investigate the maximal solution \(U\) to the equation \(-\Delta u +u^q=0\) on an open set \(D\subset \mathbb R^N\) for \(N\geq 3\) and \(g\geq N/(N-2).\) The maximal solution is estimated by using the Bessel capacity \(C_{2,q'}\), and by using Wiener type criterion sufficient and necessary conditions are presented for the maximal solution to be large solution, i.e. \(U(x)\to \infty\) as \(x\to y\) for any \(y\in \partial D\). The main results are also extended to \(C_{2,q'}\)-finely open sets.
