Abstract: Let be a finite field of characteristic , a prime number distinct to , a nontrivial additive character, and a character on . Then defines an Artin-Schreier sheaf on the affine line , and defines a Kummer sheaf on the -dimensional torus . Let be a Laurent polynomial. It defines a -morphism . In this paper, we calculate the dimensions and weights of under some non-degeneracy conditions on . Our results can be used to estimate sums of the form sum_{x_1,..., x_nin k^ast} chi_1(f_1(x_1,..., x_n))... chi_m(f_m(x_1,..., x_n))psi(f(x_1,..., x_n)), where are multiplicative characters, is a nontrivial additive character, and are Laurent polynomials.
