Abstract: Let be a topological space upon which a compact connected Lie group acts. It is well-known that the equivariant cohomology is isomorphic to the subalgebra of Weyl group invariants of the equivariant cohomology , where is a maximal torus of . This relationship breaks down for coefficient rings other than . Instead, we prove that under a mild condition on the algebra is isomorphic to the subalgebra of annihilated by the divided difference operators.
