[For Part II see the preceding review.] Das folgende Problem wird untersucht: \[ u_{xx}-u_ t=0\quad 0<x<s(t),\quad t>0;\quad u_ x(0,t)\in \gamma (u(0,t)),\quad t>0;\quad u(s(t),t)=0,\quad t>0 \] \[ u(x,0)=\phi (x)\geq 0,\quad 0\leq x\leq \ell;\quad s(0)=\ell \geq 0,\quad \dot s(t)=-u_ x(s(t),t),\quad t>0. \] Hierbei sind die Anfangswerte \(\ell,\phi\) gegeben, die Funktionen \(u(x,t)\), \(s(t)\) sind gesucht und \(\gamma\) ist ein maximal monotoner Graph im \({\mathbb{R}}^ 2\), so daß \(\gamma^{-1}(0)\cap [0,\infty[\) nichtleer ist (im zugrundelegten Modell bedeutet das physikalisch Aufheizung bei \(x=0\)). In Teil I [ibid. 19, 365-403 (1982; Zbl 0541.35077)] wurde ein ähnliches Problem behandelt. Im vorliegenden Artikel wird insbesondere für den Fall \(\ell =0\) ein Existenz- und Eindeutigkeitssatz bewiesen sowie die Asymptotik für \(t\to \infty\) untersucht.
