If E is a symmetric Banach sequence space which is q-concave with the constant equal to 1 (where \(2\leq q<\infty)\), then \(S_ E\) is q-PL- convex. If E is q-concave and p-convex with a constant equal to 1 (where \(1<p\leq 2\leq q<\infty)\), then \(S_ E\) is uniformly convex with modulus of convexity of power type q and uniformly smooth with modulus of smoothness of power type p.
