Embedded minimal surfaces derived from Scherk's examples

In der vorliegenden Arbeit werden neue eingebettete Minimalflächen konstruiert, die mit den beiden ersten Scherkschen Flächen in Verbindung stehen. Die in Abschnitt 2 vorgestellten Satteltürme sind Abwandlungen der zweiten Scherkschen Fläche. Von Ferne betrachtet erscheinen die Satteltürme wie k sich unter gleichem Winkel in einer Geraden schneidende Ebenen, aus der Nähe gesehen ersetzt der Sattelturm die Schnittgerade. Nimmt man anstelle der Ebenen Wendelflächen, dann erhält man die helikoiden Satteltürme in Abschnitt 3. Im vierten Abschnitt findet man Flächen, die wie die erste Scherksche Fläche durch parallele Halbebenen angenähert werden. Überraschenderweise können die in den Weierstraßschen Formeln auftretenden Differentiale und Funktionen jeweils explizit angegeben werden. Eine wesentliche Rolle bei den Konstruktionen spielen Symmetrielinien und das aus der Funktionentheorie übernommene Spiegelungsprinzip. Übersichtliche Computergraphiken vermitteln ein Bild der Flächen und ihrer Entstehung.
