A general saddle point theorem and its applications

This paper provides a necessary and sufficient condition for the existence of saddle points of functions defined on completely arbitrary domains. The result is then employed to give necessary and sufficient conditions for the validity of von Neumann's minimax theorem in 2-person normal-form games.
