Abstract: The aim of this paper is to solve a linear preserver problem on the function algebra . We show that in case is a first countable compact Hausdorff space, every linear bijection having the property that is of the form [ phi(f)= au cdot fcirc varphi +t(f)1 qquad (fin C(X)) ] where is a complex number of modulus 1, is a homeomorphism and is a linear functional on .
