Abstract: We sketch some of the different roles played by Whitham times in connection with averaging, adiabatic invariants, soliton theory, Hamiltonian structures, Seiberg-Witten theory, isomonodromy problems, Hitchin systems, WDVV and Picard-Fuchs equations, renormalization, soft susy breaking, etc.
