Abstract: Two DGAs are called topologically equivalent if the corresponding Eilenberg-Mac Lane ring spectra are weakly equivalent as ring spectra. Quasi-isomorphic DGAs are topologically equivalent but the converse is not necessarily true. As a counter-example, Dugger and Shipley showed that there are DGAs that are non-trivially topologically equivalent, i.e. topologically equivalent but not quasi-isomorphic. In this work, we define Einfty topological equivalences and utilize the obstruction theories developed by Goerss, Hopkins and Miller to construct first examples of non-trivially Einfty topologically equivalent Einfty DGAs. Also, we show using these obstruction theories that for co-connective Einfty DGAs, Einfty topological equivalences and quasi-isomorphisms agree. For Einfty mathbbFp-DGAs with trivial first homology, we show that an Einfty topological equivalence induces an isomorphism in homology that preserves the Dyer-Lashof operations and therefore induces an Hinfty mathbbFp-equivalence.

\textit{D. Dugger} and \textit{B. Shipley} [Adv. Math. 212, No. 1, 37--61 (2007; Zbl 1118.55008)] introduced topological equivalence of associative differential graded algebras and showed that they are topologically equivalent associative differential graded algebras which are not quasi-isomorphic. The author does the same for \(E_{\infty}\) associative differential graded algebras. Also, more results about topological equivalence of \(E_\infty\) associative differential graded algebras are given.
