On sums of two coprime k-th powers
Es sei \(k\geq 3\) eine natürliche Zahl, und es bezeichne \(\rho_k(n)\) die Anzahl der Darstellungen der natürlichen Zahl \(n\) in der Form \(n=|m_1|^k+|m_2|^k\) mit teilerfremden Zahlen \(m_1, m_2\). Für den Mittelwert \[ R_k(x) =\sum_{n\leq x}\rho_k(n)=c_k x^{2/k}+E_k(x) \] erhält man leicht die Restgliedabschätzung \(E_k(x) = O(x^{1/k})\), die man gegenwärtig nur ver\-bes\-sern kann, wenn man die Richtigkeit der Riemannschen Vermutung annimmt. Der Autor verfolgt in der Arbeit zwei Anliegen: 1. Sei \(k = 3\). Dann folgt unter Annahme der Riemannschen Vermutung aus einer Arbeit von \textit{B. Z. Moroz} [Monatsh. Math. 99, 37--43 (1985; Zbl 0551.10038)] \(E_3(x) = O(x^{10/33+\varepsilon})\). Diese Abschätzung wurde bereits mehrfach verbessert bis hin zu \(E_3(x) =O(x^{5/18+\varepsilon})\) von \textit{W. G. Nowak} [Tatra Mt. Math. Publ. 11, 23--34 (1997; Zbl 0978.11050)]. Nunmehr zeigt der Autor \(E_3(x) = O(x^{4/15+\varepsilon})\). 2. Sei \(k\geq 6\). Unter Annahme der Riemannschen Vermutung wird eine Quadratmittel\-abschätzung für \(E_k(x)\) bewiesen. Hieraus kann man auf die \(\Omega\)-Abschätzung \[ E_k(x) =\Omega(x^{1/k-1/k^2}) \] schließen.
