Mechanics. From Newtonian laws to deterministic chaos
This book introduces the canonical mechanics in Lagrangian and Hamiltonian form and treats the symplectic structure of the phase space with the help of simple PC-supported examples while placing emphasis on the physical contents combined with corresponding mathematical basis. The mechanics of rigid body is also developed as the basis of the special relativity theory. A chapter on the geometric aspect of mechanics forms the bridge to mathematical literature and modern researches. The closing part of the book defines and illustrates some essential concepts for studying nonlinear dynamics and qualitative mechanics and presents several simplest examples of the longterm behaviour and deterministic chaos.
