Eigenvalue asymptotics for the Pauli operator in strong nonconstant magnetic fields
The paper is closely related to the works by \textit{G. D. Raikov} [Commun. Partial Differ. Equations 23, No.~9-10, 1583-1619 (1998; Zbl 0919.35097)] and [Math. Phys. Electron. J. 5, No.~2 (1999; Zbl 0923.35112)] containing results on the asymptotic behavior of the discrete spectrum for the Schrödinger, Pauli, and Dirac operators in strong magnetic fields. A suitable version of the Kac-Murdock-Szegő theorem was formulated. The classical Birman-Schwinger principle and its generalizations were discussed. Asymptotics for \(\mu\to\infty\) of the traces of the positive powers of certain operators of Toeplitz type which depend on the parameter \(\mu\) were given. Further estimates were established for the perturbed discrete spectrum.
