The André/Bruck and Bose representation of conics in Baer subplanes of PG(2, q^2)
The André/Bruck and Bose representation of conics in Baer subplanes of PG(2,\( q^2\))
In this paper, the André/Bruck and Bose representation of conics in Baer subplanes of \(\text{PG}(2,q^2)\) is determined. It is shown that a non-degenerate conic in a Baer subplane of \(\text{PG}(2,q^2)\) is a normal rational curve of order \( 2,3,\) or \(4\) in the André/Bruck and Bose representation. Finally, for a non-degenerate conic \(C\) in a Baer subplane of \(\text{PG}(2,q^2)\) it is shown that the André/Bruck and Bose representation \(C^*\) of \(C\) is determined to be either a non-degenerate conic in a (transversal) plane of \(\text{PG}(4,q)\), or a twisted cubic curve on a Baer ruled cubic surface in \(\text{PG}(4,q)\), or a normal rational curve of order 4 on a Baer ruled cubic surface in \(\text{PG}(4,q)\).
