Abstract: Let be a commutative Noetherian local ring. Suppose that and are finitely generated modules over such that has finite projective dimension and such that for all . The main result of this note gives a condition on which is necessary and sufficient for the tensor product of and to be a Cohen--Macaulay module over , provided is itself a Cohen--Macaulay module.
