Near periodicity in dynamical systems

The author studies the notion of near periodicity in continuous dynamical systems \((X,\pi)\), \(\pi:X \times R\to X\), defined on a metric space \(X\). The relationship between this notion and other dynamical properties of a system (weak near periodicity, almost periodicity, recurrence property, Poisson stability, etc.) is established. Among others, the following results are obtained: 1) The notion of near periodicity is shown to be equivalent to that of weak near periodicity; 2) A sufficient condition for the positive (negative) near periodicity of a point is given; 3) It is shown that a dynamical system on a locally compact space is positively nearly periodic if and only if every point is positively Poisson stable and every positive limit set is positively stable.
