Computations of de Rham cohomology rings of classifying stacks at torsion primes

Abstract: For the split group

G_{2}

defined over

we show that the de Rham cohomology ring of

B (G_{2})_{m a t h b b F_{2}}

is isomorphic to the singular cohomology ring with

m a t h b b F_{2}

-coefficients of

B (G_{2})_{m a t h b b C} .

For the spin groups

e x t r m S p i n (n)

defined over

m a t h b b Z,

we show that the de Rham cohomology ring of

B e x t r m S p i n (n)_{m a t h b b F_{2}}

is isomorphic to the singular cohomology ring with

m a t h b b F_{2}

-coefficients of

B e x t r m S p i n (n)_{m a t h b b C}

for

n l e q 10.

For

n = 11,

we make a full computation of the de Rham cohomology ring of

B e x t r m S p i n (11)_{m a t h b b F_{2}},

which is not isomorphic to the singular cohomology ring with

m a t h b b F_{2}

-coefficients of

B e x t r m S p i n (11)_{m a t h b b C} .

We also show that the Hodge spectral sequence for

B G_{m a t h b b F_{2}}

degenerates for all of the groups

G

mentioned above.
