Abstract: We study the asymptotic large time behavior of singular solutions of the fast diffusion equation ut=Deltaum in (mathbbRnsetminus0)imes(0,infty) in the subcritical case 0<m<fracn2n, nge3. Firstly, we prove the existence of singular solution u of the above equation that is trapped in between self-similar solutions of the form of , i=1,2, with initial value u0 satisfying A1|x|gammaleu0leA2|x|gamma for some constants A2>A1>0 and frac21m<gamma<fracn2m, where , and the self-similar profile fi satisfies the elliptic equation Delta f^m+alpha f+eta xcdot abla f=0quad mbox{in mathbbRnsetminus0} with and lim|x|oinfty|x|fracn2mfi(x)=DAi for some constants DAi>0. When frac21m<gamma<n, under an integrability condition on the initial value u0 of the singular solution u, we prove that the rescaled function ilde u(y, au):= t^{,alpha} u(t^{,eta} y,t),quad{ au:=log t}, converges to some self-similar profile f as auoinfty.
