Abstract: Let mathbbF be a field, and fix a qinmathbbF. The q-deformed Heisenberg algebra mathcalH(q) is the unital associative algebra over mathbbF with generators A, B and a relation which asserts that ABqBA is the multiplicative identity in mathcalH(q). We extend mathcalH(q) into an algebra mathcalR(q) defined by generators A, B and a relation which asserts that ABqBA is central in mathcalR(q). We identify all elements of mathcalR(q) that are Lie polynomials in A, B.
