Abstract: Let (mathcalC,mathbbE,mathfraks) be an extriangulated category with a proper class xi of mathbbE-triangles. The authors introduced and studied xi-mathcalGprojective and xi-mathcalGinjective in cite{HZZ}. In this paper, we discuss Gorenstein homological dimensions for extriangulated categories. More precisely, we first give some characterizations of xi-mathcalGprojective dimension by using derived functors on mathcalC. Second, let mathcalP(xi) (resp. mathcalI(xi)) be a generating (resp. cogenerating) subcategory of mathcalC. We show that the following equality holds under some assumptions: sup{xi extrm{-}mathcal{G}{ m pd}M | extrm{for} extrm{any} Min{mathcal{C}}}=sup{xi extrm{-}mathcal{G}{ m id}M | extrm{for} extrm{any} Min{mathcal{C}}}, where xiextrm−mathcalGmpdM (resp. xiextrm−mathcalGmidM) denotes xi-mathcalGprojective (resp. xi-mathcalGinjective) dimension of M. As an application, our main results generalize their work by Bennis-Mahdou and Ren-Liu. Moreover, our proof is not far from the usual module or triangulated case.
