Abstract: The symbol length of pBr(k(!(alpha1)!)dots(!(alphan)!)) for an algebraically closed field k of operatornamechar(k)eqp is known to be lfloorfracn2floor. We prove that the symbol length for the case of operatornamechar(k)=p is rather n1. We also show that pairs of anisotropic quadratic or bilinear n-fold Pfister forms over this field need not share an (n1)-fold factor.
