Abstract: Cilleruelo conjectured that if finmathbbZ[x] of degree dge2 is irreducible over the rationals, then logoperatornamelcm(f(1),ldots,f(N))sim(d−1)NlogN as Noinfty. He proved it for the case d=2. Very recently, Maynard and Rudnick proved there exists cd>0 with logoperatornamelcm(f(1),ldots,f(N))gtrsimcdNlogN, and showed one can take cd=fracd−1d2. We give an alternative proof of this result with the improved constant cd=1. We additionally prove the bound logoperatornameradoperatornamelcm(f(1),ldots,f(N))gtrsimfrac2dNlogN and make the stronger conjecture that logoperatornameradoperatornamelcm(f(1),ldots,f(N))sim(d−1)NlogN as Noinfty.
