Closed BLD-elliptic manifolds have virtually abelian fundamental groups

Abstract: We show that a closed, connected, oriented, Riemannian $n$-manifold, admitting a branched cover of bounded length distortion from $mathbb{R}^n$, has a virtually Abelian fundamental group.
