Abstract: We study the probability that chordal extSLE8/3 in the unit disk from exp(ix) to 1 avoids the disk of radius q centered at zero. We find the initial/boundary-value problem satisfied by this probability as a function of x and a=lnq, and show that asymptotically as q tends to one this probability decays like exp(−cx/(1−q)) with c=5pi/8 for xin[0,pi]. We also give a representation of this probability as a functional of a Legendre process.

The paper is devoted to the study of the probability \(F(a,x)\) that the chordal \(SLE_{8/3}\) in the unit disk from \(\exp(ix)\) to 1 avoids the disk of radius \(\exp(a)\) centered at zero. It is proved that \(F\) is the unique solution of an evolution equation with initial and boundary conditions. As \(a\) tends to zero, this probability decays like \(\exp(-cx/(1-\exp(a)))\) with \(c=5\pi/8\) for \(0<x\leq \pi\). This strong decay is used to prove a stochastic representation for \(F(a,x)\) involving a Legendre process.
