Abstract: Let be the function field of a smooth curve over the -adic number field . We show that for each prime-to- number the -torsion subgroup is generated by -cyclic classes; in fact the -length is equal to two. It follows that the Brauer dimension of is two (first proved in cite{Sa97}), and any -division algebra of period and index is decomposable.
