Abstract: In this paper, we study the fluctuation of linear eigenvalue statistics of Random Band Matrices defined by Mn=frac1sqrtbnWn, where Wn is a nimesn band Hermitian random matrix of bandwidth bn, i.e., the diagonal elements and only first bn off diagonal elements are nonzero. Also variances of the matrix elmements are upto a order of constant. We study the linear eigenvalue statistics mathcalN(phi)=sumi=1nphi(lambdai) of such matrices, where lambdai are the eigenvalues of Mn and phi is a sufficiently smooth function. We prove that sqrtfracbnn[mathcalN(phi)mathbbEmathcalN(phi)]stackreldoN(0,V(phi)) for bn>>sqrtn, where V(phi) is given in the Theorem 1.
