Dynamical systems involving transformations and group actions with special properties (minimality, distality, proximality, expansivity, etc.) (37B05) Attractors and repellers of smooth dynamical systems and their topological structure (37C70) Uniformly hyperbolic systems (expanding, Anosov, Axiom A, etc.) (37D20) Nonuniformly hyperbolic systems (Lyapunov exponents, Pesin theory, etc.) (37D25) Dynamical systems involving homeomorphisms and diffeomorphisms of planes and surfaces (37E30)
Abstract: We prove the conjecture of F. Rodriguez Hertz and J. Rodriguez Hertz (2006) that every nontrivial transitive expansive attractor of a homeomorphism of a compact surface is a derived from pseudo-Anosov attractor.
