Abstract: We consider the continuity property in Lebesgue spaces Lp(Rm) of wave operators Wpm of scattering theory for Schr"odinger operator H=lap+V on Rm, |V(x)|leqCaxdelta for some delta>2 when H is of exceptional type, i.e. Ng=uinaxsL2(Rm)colon(1+(lap)1V)u=0ot=0 for some 1/2<s<delta1/2. It has recently been proved by Goldberg and Green for mgeq5 that Wpm are bounded in Lp(Rm) for 1leqp<m/2, the same holds for 1leqp<m if all finNg satisfy intRmVfdx=0 and, for 1leqp<infty if in addition intRmxiVfdx=0, i=1,dots,m. We make the results for p>m/2 more precise and prove in particular that these conditions are also necessary for the stated properties of Wpm. We also prove that, for m=3, Wpm are bounded in Lp(R3) for 1<p<3 and that the same holds for 1<p<infty if and only if all finNg satisfy intR3Vfdx=0 and intR3xiVfdx=0, i=1,2,3, simultaneously.
