Abstract: Let be a commutative Noetherian ring and the minimal injective cogenerator of the category of -modules. An -module is (Matlis) reflexive if the natural evaluation map is an isomorphism. We prove that if is a multiplicatively closed subset of and is a reflexive -module, then is a reflexive -module. The converse holds when is the complement of the union of finitely many minimal primes of , but fails in general.
