Abstract: Let calP be an open filter base for a filter calF on X. We denote by CcalP(X) (CinftycalP(X)) the set of all functions finC(X) where Z(f) (x:|f(x)|<frac1n) contains an element of calP. First, we observe that every proper subrings in the sense of Acharyya and Ghosh (Topology Proc. 2010) has such form and vice versa. After wards, we generalize some well known theorems about CK(X),Cpsi(X) and Cinfty(X) for CcalP(X) and CinftycalP(X). We observe that CinftycalP(X) may not be an ideal of C(X). It is shown that CinftycalP(X) is an ideal of C(X) and for each FincalF, XsetminusoverlineF is bounded ifif the set of non-cluster points of the filter calF is bounded. By this result, we investigate topological spaces for which CinftycalP(X) is an ideal of C(X) whenever calP=: A is open and XsetminusA is bounded (resp., calP=: XsetminusA is finite ). Moreover, we prove that CcalP(X) is an essential (resp., free) ideal ifif the set V is open and is a pi-base for X (resp., mathcalF has no cluster point). Finally, the filter calF for which CinftycalP(X) is a regular ring (resp., z-ideal) is characterized.
